MRMS Brand Logo

The student participating in the athletic programs of Douglas County Schools:

  • The student must be in attendance at school at least half of the day on the day of a game or practice, except in the case of a doctor’s appointment or any other excused reason.
  • Attendance at a minimum of three practices is needed in order to participate in a contest.  Must arrive at practice on time and remain at practice until it is over, unless excused by the coach in the case of a special circumstance. Lack of regular attendance will jeopardize opportunities to participate;
  • Will be on a list of total participants in each activity or sport in which they participate. The Athletic Secretary will make this list available to all coaches at school within three days of the first practice. Any problems with any of the participants will be reported to the Assistant Principal, Athletic Coordinator and/or coach as soon as possible.
  • 7th graders play on 7th grade teams and 8th graders play on 8th grade teams only.
  • Will be prevented from participating in a sport for the rest of the season, if he/she violates the Alcohol/Drug Use Policy, or any other policy in the District Code of Conduct which would result in a recommendation for expulsion.
  • Will be prevented from participating in a sport for the rest of the season for intentional equipment abuse and will  be responsible to pay for damaged or unreturned equipment before being allowed to participate in any further athletic program in Douglas County Schools;
  • Will inform the coach that he/she intends to drop or quit any sport.

The preceding code is a minimum Code of Conduct. Any coach may use a more strict set of rules.
