Congressional Debate Club
Congressional Debate is a mock legislative assembly competition where students debate and vote to pass mock legislation into "law". This club is dedicated to the educational development of the individual through the vehicle of Congressional Debate, which promotes leadership and communication skills through rigorous interaction and debate on issues confronting our democracy. These skills will prepare them for learning and leadership throughout our lives. Legislation will be selected from previous high school competitions and will span a variety of middle school appropriate topics. Students will get the choice of what side they wish to research and argue. This is a perfect introduction to one of the high school debate events!
We will meet in Room 241 on Thursdays at 2:55 beginning August 22 and ending November 7. Ms. Sprigg is the sponsor, so contact her with questions.
Please pay for all activities through MySchoolBucks.
