Hello all! My name is Breeann Gibbons and I am the 7 Green and 7 Yellow counselor for the 2019-2020 school year. This will be my first year at Mountain Ridge Middle School, and I am SO excited to begin this journey! I look forward to getting to know the students, families, and staff of this wonderful community. Everyone has been so welcoming so far - I already feel at home and look forward to many years ahead!
Before coming to Mountain Ridge, I have been a school counselor at the high school, middle school, and elementary levels. I've enjoyed them all, but my heart is with middle school students. I love having the opportunity to work with young people and make a difference in their lives, while assisting them in navigating through middle school and preparing for the years beyond. I strongly believe that every student has a voice and it is my job to listen. I enjoy helping students effectively deal with a variety of problems, challenging them to become more successful each and every day, and inspiring them to do their personal best in life.
Outside of school, I love to spend time with my husband and our adorable chocolate lab, Tucker. We moved to Colorado a few years ago from Long Island, so we enjoy exploring this beautiful state as much as we can. We've discovered so many gorgeous places, but there is still so much to see! We love that there is so much room for hiking and adventures here, but we do miss the ocean from time to time. We try to visit our family on the East Coast each summer and make sure to squeeze in a couple of beach days while we're there!
